They should know how to pronounce the letter correctly. Some should also be able to recognize some of the letters.(upper case) Particularly if the letters are in their name. They should be able to count to 10. Some may be able to count higher. They may also be able to recognize some of the numbers from 1-10. They only need to be recognizing letters and numbers at the level. Tracing and cutting: The children will be introduced to scissors and the proper way to hold them. They will be cutting paper at random. They will not be cutting on lines. The cutting is practice for holding and using scissors correctly. Tracing should only be done with very simple shapes. Such as, Circles, squares and /or lines. Small & Large Motor Development: Small motor skills-the children will be putting together very simple puzzles, Leggos of all sizes and holding of crayons as such will help to strengthen and develop these muscles. Large Motor-exercise, climbing, jumping, and/ or dancing. These will also help with the children's coordination. The children will be learning communication skills that will help them to communicate to their peers with words rather than actions. They will be learning proper table manners and how to sit in a chair at meals. The children will be taught how to communicate their personal needs. (Potty, hungry, feelings) They will also learn the basics of responsibility. They will assist in setting up their beds and cleaning up after them selfs. |
